U.S. Wars Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In his farewell address George Washington specifically warned the United States of America to not get tangled up in foreign affairs. A direct quote from his address, "In regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible." In this quote he means dont get caught up in sharing political allies with any other country. Another quote from Washington, "Tis our policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world." This says to stay away from making allies with any other country. The United States were hindered by not following Washingtons advice and making allies with other countries and having to go to war in the Vietnam War and the Cold War. Billions and billions of dollars were spent on these wars. This outrageous amount of money being thrown around caused the economy to fluctuate.
