Isolation in Frankenstein Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Daemon is alienated from the world. He has got no real friends. He has no support. He is talented but no one admires him. He is terribly depressed. But is he really alienated? Or is he just isolating himself? Unlike the Daemon, Frankenstein does not give his key to heart to his father and his fiancee. In this essay, I am going to take Volume III of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to discuss how Frankenstein isolates himself. Frankenstein is on his way to splendid isolation. Frankenstein, after refusing to create another monster for Daemon as a companion, angers Daemon. He has promised Daemon to create a female monster for him so that he will no longer suffer alienation. But Frankenstein breaks his promise. Daemon’s curse “I will be with you on your wedding night” makes Frankenstein drop into the net of misery again. He is afraid that on the wedding night, he would be killed and Elizabeth would lose her husband. He wants to escape from this frustration.
