Bumpy Ride Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
I had never been skiing, so my mom wanted to take me and a friend on a skiing trip. Michigan had hardly any snow that winter, so we packed up a van and headed from Detroit, MI to Detroit Lakes, MN. It was about nine oclock at night and my friend Stacie was asleep on the bench seat in the back of the van without a seat belt. I was sleeping in the right bucket seat in front of her with my seat leaned back over her head. The temperature had dropped from earlier that evening, freezing whatever melted snow had leaked onto the road. It only took a few seconds, but we were down a hill, facing the opposite direction, and next to a barbed-wire fence.
When the pieces were put together, I found out what really happened. There was a patch of black ice on the highway, my mom lost control of the car and went across the median, turned around and came back the wrong way, then we went off the road and rolled down a hill.
