Chinua Achebe Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In his book, Things fall apart; Chinua Achebe addresses a multitude of issues, more or less, implicitly. At the same time he gives an overview of the African society, specifically the Ibo society which is described from the prospective of an inhabitant of this society. In fact, Chinua Achebe in his book, painted the pre-colonial Igbo society, its different traditions, government. He went as far as meticulously describing their beliefs. One of the issues that he tackled in his book and which is still debated today is the reaction of those self governed Africans towards the missionaries and the western influences and their vain effort to eradicate this new influences most the Igbo viewed as evil.. The pre-colonial Igbo society described seemed to be stratified. There were people of many titles and the people without it were called Woman and at the bottom the outlaws very much considered as animal.
