As women become stronger in the workplace and become more of a front runner in the political world, many people think that it will not be long before the United States has its first female President. We already see it on TV as Geena Davis plays a Vice President who is suddenly thrown into the Oval Office upon the death of the President. In fact, there is speculation that the hit show Commander in Chief will influence the American voters to elect a female. As a woman in today's society, I to believe that a female will be elected as President of the United States soon. In fact, I think it will happen within my lifetime. However, I dont feel a TV show will be the deciding factor.
Women like Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Condoleezza Rice have proven they are capable of surviving in what some people still consider a mans world. Both Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice have overcome many obstacles, including tabloid embarrassment, while proving they deserve to be where they are.
