The Great Gatsby Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Classical Literature, when created into a movie, can completely destroy an author's image of what was meant when written into a book. F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby, was one that I feel was not destroyed entirely when created into the film by the Hollywood movie industry. The cast was an interesting choice for the movie. Mia Farrow, who acted as Daisy, came across as more a ditzy and flirty girl rather than a seductive beauty as she came across in the book, along with Myrtle as well. The characters were not as in depth and detailed as they were in the book. The friendship between all of them was a lot deeper in the book than expressed in the movie. Gatsby was how I expected him to be as he was portrayed in the movie as he was in the book. He was a young, rich man who dressed well and threw extravagant parties. The setting I also believe was portrayed the same in the movie and book. Gatsby's parties showed what the roaring twenties were like. People spent time gossiping, they were carefree and enjoyed to......
