How can great love lead to death? In Shakespeares play, Romeo and Juliet there are at least two reasons about why their amazing love leads to death. The passion of the two adolescents over rides reason and the lack of ability to think clearly in a complex situation contribute to the extremes in the plot.
Love leads to death in the play as Romeo and Juliets love over rides all common sense. Juliets shows this in Act 1 Scene 5 Line 138. My only love sprung from my only hate!
