People hate changes. Any inconsistencies in life may cause a person to change his or her ways of living as a human being. However, Darwin, in his book The Origin of Species, stated any being that has the greatest adaptability has the most likelihood of surviving and evolving in a new environment. In The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, six people are placed in a world they have never seen or experienced before: the Congo. The book tells the tale of these six individuals and how they changed their views and beliefs of the African culture. Leah Price is the second oldest child in the family, a twin. She is intelligent and idealistic. The new world, in her mind, is an opportunity to learn new things, and she discovers so many that she did not expect and did not want to find.
