Discrimination against women has been a major issue in many societies around the world. Although it has decreased dramatically throughout the years, it is still an issue that is constantly spoken about. Discrimination can be from women being paid less then men to women being harassed. In todays society womens status ranges from being at home, within the workforce or both. Millions of women throughout the world live in conditions of hopeless lack of, and attacks against, their fundamental human rights for no other reason than that they are women.
Stay at home mums have rapidly dropped. Today you know find that more women are working while pregnant, and theyre working further into their pregnancies. In the decade before the 1978 passage of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, more then half of employed women quit their jobs when they became pregnant, and by the early 1990s that number dropped to 27% of pregnant women.
