Lady Macbeth Character Analysis Lady Macbeth in Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's most unstable and intriguing female characters. Through Macbeth, she turns from a deadly serpent to a delicate flower. In the play, there are three scenes that explore the character of Lady Macbeth. At the time when we first meet her, she is a brutally violent, evil, and heartless person. In the middle of Macbeth at the dinner party scene, she becomes deceitful, covering for Macbeth’s guilty conscience. In the end of the play, the scene when she is sleep walking shows her guilty conscience and complete breakdown. By examining three key scenes in Macbeth, one can see Lady Macbeth’s character changes from one of power to one of an incredible weaknesses The first part of Macbeth that someone would explore when characterizing Lady Macbeth in act 1 scene 5. This scene shows Lady Macbeth reacting to the news of her husbands success and King Duncan's upcoming visit.
