Hypothesis: To determine which factors of the big five correlate with subject well being in defining what makes people happy? Introduction: For number of years great interest has gone into the research in addressing what makes people happy. However most of this attention has focused upon not only demographics but also social economic variables. In fact two renowned researchers have studied this further. The early works by Costa and McRae address that happiness is associated with high extraversion and low neuroticism, thus having the other major dimensions of personality not gaining as much interest. In contrast McRae and Costa suggest that the other component so the big five (agreeableness and conscientiousness) should facilitate positive experiences in social achievement situations respectively which in turn increase subjective well-being.
