Songs with violent musical lyrics increase aggression related to thoughts and emotions, and this effect is directly related to the violence in the lyrics. Therefore, violent musical lyrics can negatively affect a listeners behavior.
There are many different arguments on who in society is mainly affected by violent musical lyrics today. According to the APA (American Psychological Association), songs with violent and obscene lyrics mainly affect teenagers (Partenheimer, www.apa.org).
