Is Macbeth Responsible For What He Has Done? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Shakespeare’s Macbeth is the story of a man who is manipulated into tragic demise. He is the victim of conspiring force, who unites in their purpose to destroy him. Firstly, Lady Macbeth is the main reason the death of King Duncan took place. Secondly, The Three Witches influenced Macbeth by telling him that they could see him as king. Lastly, his ambition was a main factor that led him to be king; if it weren’t for his greed maybe the story of Macbeth would be a different. Thus, he does not have the power to change his fate and he is not responsible for what happens to him. Lady Macbeth is one of the many people in the story who manipulated Macbeth into being a malicious individual. She pressured Macbeth into killing Duncan. She shows great desire for Macbeth to become king and in doing so she questions Macbeth character and if he would do it upon receiving a letter stating that he had become king, Lady Macbeth states: "Yet do I fear nature; it is too full o' th' milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way" (I.v.14-16). Lady Macbeth feels that Macbeth is much to kind to comm......
