The vast number of hills that completely surrounded us on all sides seemed to be untouched by mans burning desire to destroy the blissful countryside, in order to make room for the extension of dull, dreary cities which were overflowing with people. The only evidence of mankinds destructive presence was the thin, winding road, which we travelled upon although on second thoughts, it was more like a track than a road. It seemed dangerously close to the edge and in places the barrier between the car and a spine-chilling, sheer drop was virtually non-existent. Every now and then we would see a handful of sturdy Irish ponies, some wandering aimlessly and others gazing peacefully at their magnificent surroundings. Their thick, mud-plastered coats were the same shade of chocolate brown as their noble eyes, whilst their trustworthy, weather-beaten faces regularly went out of sight, only to appear again with a fresh mouthful of grass. From time to time a scattering of grazing sheep would come into view, whose snow-white coats made them (when observed from a distance) look like small......
