A doll house Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

This drama that I choose is a written by Henrik Ibsen. I think that the critical approach used her is the Feminist one. I can say that for me is strange that a man wrote about feminist, but it can be possible in such times like here. I selected this theory because of the end of the drama. In the end, Nora, the protagonist, realized that her husband and her father always treat her like a doll. Why a doll? Because she felt that her live to entertain him. For this reason, she decided to leave her house. The setting can de psychological, time-place and cultural. The drama begins the Christmas Eve and end two days after. It takes place in the Helmer’s house. Is important to say that Nora is always in stage. Everything occurs around her. In cultural setting, the time that was wrote this play, the men have all the power, so is “normal” that the women were treated like the protagonist. This action was accepted by the society. Another thing in relation with the setting is that is wrote in present. There was ten characters: Nora, Tervald, Dr. Rank, Christine, Krogslad, three children (......
