Their location also provides means for more effective communication when trading between the two countries.
Mexico is readily providing low governmental taxations on trade goods: encouragement for foreign corporations to also take advantage of cheap labor, materials, and other products. Traded goods vary from electronic components, chemicals, apparel, wood products, steel, wire, and repair supplies for machines.
Companies in U.S. can work with subcontracting companies in Mexico to contract out the assembly or processing of their goods and products. For example, the U.S. company may provide the raw materials or components and have the maquila factory carry out manufacturing of the finished product.
