I think its important that poets and writers stay true to their craft and themselves despite what others think as Heaney (p33) says. I think staying true to self is also what Lorca identifies as the Duende, as I will discuss later on. It is also what Hugo incorporates when he says not to listen to the reader when writing a poem, rather, trust in your own words. This is all about staying true to your own expression of truth and having the courage and conviction to stay with it despite criticisms and disapprovals.
