A metaphor to describe the church is the body, with Christ as the Head. Just like a healthy body relies on its nervous system to communicate the brains instructions, so the church relies on effective Organisational Communication to function effectively. Organisational Communication is the process of creating and exchanging messages within a network of interdependent relationships to cope with environmental uncertainties.
For successful communication to take place, there must be a sender and a receiver who understand a message in the same way. Even following careful preparation, a flurry of unrelated realities may create static which interferes with the easy flow of data. Receivers may think they understand your message. In reality, they often misunderstand it or do not want to admit misunderstanding. The message should be designed for the receiver, not for the sender.
