The Fall of The Roman Empire Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The fall of the Romans was a tragic event that marked the end of an empire that had long survived the test of time. The Romans were well known for there ingenious ideas. For instance, they created the first senate. Another thing they invented was a new way of fighting that shocked the world. Part of their superior military abilities came with the invention of many types of new weapons that nobody had ever seen before. It was a good thing that they had this ability, however, because they had a lot of land to protect (Dineen, 11). The Romans ruled over land in present day Italy, France, Great Britain and Egypt. With all of this land, they had to keep up with the several raids and invasions that were constantly occurring. Barbarians carried out these raids; some of these included the Western Goths, the Huns, the Eastern Goths, the Anglo Saxons, the Jutes and the Burundians. (Anyone speaking a foreign language was considered barbaric.) However, with all of these raids, they had to have the financial stability to be able to support and maintain the powerful army they had.
