Death of a Salesman Act 1 Pt. 1 and 2 In act one, the main characters are introduced. The main character is Willy Loman, a salesman living in Brooklyn. His family members are: Linda, his wife; Biff, his eldest son; and Happy, his youngest son. The setting takes place at his house. As the scenes continue, we start to find out that Willy isn’t in his right state of mind. On his daily trip to Yonkers he dazes off and nearly crashes several times. Linda talks to him about changing to a job where he doesn’t travel, but Willy continues to rant. This is where first recognized that Willy constantly contradicts himself. He rants about how his son Biff is lazy, and shortly after claims Biff is anything but lazy. Willy’s sons are in their 30’s and don’t have decent jobs. Biff dreams about moving west and starting a ranch and wants his brother Happy to join him. Willy’s day dreams are flashbacks from when his sons were younger. Willy doesn’t have a good relationship with Biff, and flashes back to when they did get along. Biff was a great football player and Willy believed t......
