There are many people who are against cigarette advertising and others who are in favour. Tobacco advertising is only one factor influencing the decision to smoke; others include social, religious, parental, sibling and peer smoking behaviour and attitudes, price and disposable income, education and social class. Cigarette advertising should be banned because it induces children and young people to begin experimenting with tobacco products and in this way to initiate regular smoking, encourages adults to take up smoking and encourages existing smokers to smoke more.
First of all, children and young people may begin experimenting with tobacco products when they watch cigarette advertising regularly. Nowadays, adolescents seem to watch television more often and they likely love watching the advertising. They are also quite curious to try the advertised products.
