EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The job of a manager in the workplace is to get the job done though employees. To do this the manager should be able to motivate employees. But thats easier said than done! Motivate practice and theory are difficult subject, touching on several disciplines. Human nature can be very simple, yet very complex too. An understanding and appreciation of this is a prerequisite to effect employee motivation in the workplace and therefore effective management and leadership. By understand the importance of motivation the workforce; building on the Herzbergs two-factor theory, this research develops a conceptual model that is used to apply in leadership in hospitality industry where the daily activities based on the interaction between people and people.
