Women that suffer from eating disorders are also suffering from other social ills. These social ills can vary and manifest themselves from internal dissatisfaction to external problems. It is quite evident that not all women who suffer from internal disappointment have eating disorders but the correlation between the two cannot be ignored. There are approximately seven million females and one million males who suffer from eating disorders. These eating disorders can include: binge eating, anorexia, bulimia and obsessive exercising. Eating disorders are clearly becoming an increasing problem and are not disappearing like some of those waistlines.
Eating disorders are of great concern to me because like most women I feel uncomfortable a majority of the time. However, I never felt a desire to be either bulimic or anorexic, so my interest lies in what differs for girls that eventually end up with eating disorders.
