The Great Gatsby Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Jay Gatsby is the one of the main characters in this novel. He is a young man, who went from being in bad conditions in North Dakota to becoming fabulously wealthy. He had one main purpose and was to grab the attention of the love of his life, Daisy. He would do anything possible to attract her over to him and mainly his house. So that he could show off that he wasn’t a poor boy anymore. Gatsby immediately fell in love with Daisy’s aura of luxury, grace and charm. As in the novel, When Nick and Jordan are talking Jordan tells Nick. “Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay. Than it had not been merely the stars to which he had aspired on that June night. He came alive to me, delivered suddenly from the womb of his purposeless splendor. “He wants to know,” Jordan continued, “If you’ll invite Daisy to your house some afternoon and then let him come over.” Gatsby would even use Nick so that he could get close to Daisy.
