In this paper we will present the value of teams in the work environment. We will address the differences between a team and a group, take a brief look at team dynamics, discuss the strategies for making a team efficient and touch upon dealing with conflict within a work team.
Definition of a Team
The Webster dictionary defines the term Team as a group of people organized to work together. A team consists of a group of people within the same group or company working towards a common goal.
Team Group Differences
There may be different types of teams within an organization. There are teams which make the day to day decisions, teams that only work on one or two issues, and teams that are made up to continually improve on daily, monthly or yearly tasks.
