The first book of the Old Testament, Genesis, explains how God created humankind. "So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). Humans, male and female, work together to survive and exist. They require each other's assistance to succeed. For students to succeed, they require coeducation. After sixth grade in a coeducational parochial school, I persuaded my parents to send me to Trinity, where unisex education is the norm. I quickly made thirteen female friends for life and felt completely at ease in my single sex classes. By eleventh grade when I chose to transfer back into coeducation, I had become aware of the many disadvantages of unisex education and the advantages of coeducation. Coeducation, in general, benefits female students. Trinity, my seventh through tenth grade school, tried to address the difficulties of coeducation when founded some eighteen years ago.
