The biography, Annas Story is both an expository and narrative text as the book uses both methods. The book tries to influence the reader with a message about an issue. The issue that this book tries to reveal is that there is no education and understanding of drugs with both parents and their children. It also tries to warn parents of teenage drug taking and help them understand that children dont have to be the stereotypical image of a druggie to be at risk of taking drugs, it could be any child whether they are the A grade student or the class slacka. Anna is portrayed as an average teen that anyone of us could be or anyone of us could be a parent of.
Annas story starts with some input from David Bennett who is the head of Adolescent Medicine at a hospital in New South Wales. This has been included as he is a doctor and would see the effects drugs has on everyone especially within teens.
