These are the words spoken by Martin Luther King Jr. King was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and was the eldest son to Reverend Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. Originally his name was Michael but later had it changed to Martin. Growing up in a black middle-income family young King never felt a pinch of poverty, however his parents could not protect him from the cruelties of racism. As he grew up, he always held his mothers words in mind: You are as good as anyone (The New Book of Knowledge, Volume JK pg. 247)
