RED BADGE OF COURAGE SUMMARY here was a young man named Henry. One day, he was packing his things ready to leave for the army. Though his mother discourages him from joining the army, still didn’t refuse him from leaving. Henry went his way and joined the army. That night, other soldiers told him stories about enemies they would be encountering in the battle. Henry just ignored them and still has the courage in engaging his self in the battle. Then, he had a conversation with the two other soldiers, the tall soldier (Jim Conklin) and the loud soldier (Wilson). The two said that no matter what might happen in the battle, they would not run like a coward; instead they will give their best to it. The night came dark and quiet, making Henry sleep after their conversation. The next day, the regiments were being ready for their leave, while Henry is still at his deep sleep. Wilson wakes him up and this time he misses his home and wanted to leave the army. But when they climbed the mountain, he now realizes to continue his journey.
