My first apartment
At age 21, after living with my dad for three years, I decided to get my own apartment. It had to be in a safe and quite neighborhood, catered to kids, and factor in a monthly budget of $900. One morning while driving to work on Prospect Blvd, I saw a sign: Renovated apartments for rent! No down payment! Move in today! Later that week I drove by to see the gated apartment complex; once I saw the soft yellow paint on the buildings, the tall green as money palm trees, the copper tone colored hurricane shutters above each window, and the acres of jogging and nature trails which would provide a tranquil environment for the outdoor enthusiasts that I am, I was sold.
At the front of my door was a hand strawed welcome mat. When you first enter the apartment on the right was the eat-in kitchen, with a stainless white stove, a simple one door white refrigerator and white microwave. The color on the kitchen wall was a welcoming yellow, showing little signs of tried contemporary design.
The living room was as bare as a newly built condominium, with dark green car......
