Dead Man's Path: Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
In Chinua Achebe's short story, "Dead Man's Path," Michael Obi, recently appointed headmaster of Ndume Central in Nigeria, Africa he wants things to be perfect for teh first visit of his supervisor. Michael Obi builds his garden across the ancestor path of the natives and blocks the entrance to the path. The supervisor comes to evaulate him on the same day that this is happening.
The main character is the headmaster Michael Obi. He is a static character that faces grow and change due to the situation in teh story, but will remain basically unchanged through out the whole story. Michael Obi is a person who doesn't believe in the old customs of the villagers, and he doen't even respect their culture either. Soon after a village women died during childbirth and the village made great sacrifices to appease their gods, they finally decided to destroy the schoolyard.
