Sex education is a subject that most schools stress on these days. Five years ago, that was not the case. Today, many schools require middle and high school students to take a Family Consumer Science or Health course that touches the bases on abstinence, safe sex, sexually transmitted diseases and other negative side effects on having sex. Also, these classes stress sexual attitudes and behaviors, and also the discussion of sexuality.
Looking back on my middle and high school days, I can remember having to sit through many classes and lectures dealing with safe sex. In middle school it was required for every student to take a course dealing with safe sex. This course talked about how both the male and female body function, abstinence, STDs and safe sex. Personally, I feel that having to take this class at the age of thirteen or fourteen was unnecessary.
