The precondition to the October revolution in Russia was a period between 1905 and 1917. During this time there was a lot of social, economic and political discontent which existed. Revolutions occur because of these factors. The precondition phase indicates how and why this event occurred. The social, economic and political discontent evident during the precondition phase of the October revolution in Russia were typically overcome in the short term when the Bolsheviks seized power.
There was severe social discontent in pre-1917 Russia. This was particularly among the peasantry. They owned no land as the Provisional Government wouldnt let them have it. They were living in very poor conditions and heavy discontent existed within the peasant population. There was a large difference between the social classes in Russia. There were the nobles who were extremely rich at one end of the scale and the peasants who were extremely poor at the other end of the scale.
