Stargirl Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Stargirl By: Jerry Spinelli There is a new girl that has just arrived at Mica Area High School in Mica, Arizona. Whispers and rumors are running through the school as she enters. Her name is Stargirl Caraway. Stargirl is a 10th Grader, who wears pioneer type dresses, strums to her ukulele and carries a pet rat named Cinnamon. No one knows who she is. They don’t know where she is from. All that they think about is how weird she is. This “Stargirl” shocks the school, which isn’t exactly a normal thing to occur in their kind of school. In time the students give away to Stargirl’s free spirit and friendliness. They begin to rejoice in her extraordinary and impromptu antics such as singing Happy Birthday to everyone in the School cafeteria and her energetic performances as a cheerleader. Soon, her popularity starts to wear off as she carries it a little too far. Leo Borlock (the narrator of this book) befriends Stargirl and she becomes his first love. Soon, everyone seems to not like Stargirl anymore. Stargirl disappears. No one has seen her. Until one ......
