Television is made by the media, simply to sway the thoughts of the viewers. How many ads have you seen that tell to buy a certain product, or to go to a certain place? The media make documentaries to tell you to do something, so basically; youre sheep following a shepherd. They dont see you as individual people, they see you as consumers, buying their products as long as they tell you to. This paper has been written to show you the power of documentaries and how they sway the viewers thoughts.
The certain documentary that is in focus for this paper is Super Size Me, a documentary on the effects of fast food from a certain outlet can do to a person. It follows one man, who sets out to prove that if eaten as a complete diet, McDonalds fast food has negative health effects, due to a court case where two teenage girls attempted to sue McDonalds because of their obesity. So, the man founding the investigation goes on a 30 day fast food binge were he can only eat what is on the menu at his local golden arches.
