In education the term inclusion, and inclusive education, is used to mean the full inclusion of children with diverse abilities in all aspects of schooling that other children are able to access and enjoy. An inclusive classroom is one that provides support and integration to students that might otherwise be marginalised or segregated. For inclusion to be effective there may need to be changes to the physical classroom, the pedagogical practices of the teacher, and the attitudes of students and staff (Loreman et al., 2005, & UNESCO, 2004). Inclusion is the right of every child to be able to attend and be part of the community of any school (Avramidis et al., 2000). The issue of inclusion has become a popular topic in recent years however many educators have concerns about the extensive placement of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) within mainstream schools (Forian, 1998).
