The Cinematography of Death When we go to a theater to watch a movie, especially when the film is particularly entertaining, we feel as though we want more. Possibly a sequel, or possibly some more information as to what exactly happens at the end, closure. In most cases we ask the same questions at the end of our own feature films, that is, our lives. Perhaps the most universal concern in any human’s life is the uncertainty of what exactly happens after we return to dust, or less eloquently, die and are eaten by worms. There are plenty that say, “Absolutely nothing. When one dies, one dies.” In these people’s discernment, one becomes a fabulous fertilizer and a couple of mushrooms or tulips sprout up. But, understandably, this simply does not hold steady with most. It seems silly to live a life on Earth and have it abruptly end. Most want a sequel, a “Batman Returns”, if you will.
