With the close of World War ² President Woodrow Wilson met with the European Allies to discuss their terms of agreement on ending the war. This meeting raised many questions and issues that had to be solved before the signing of the league of nations. When Woodrow Wilson said peace without victory the European allies did not agree with him nor did they understand why he said this. He said this because it was a main idea of the Fourteen Points urging peace around the world. The European Allies had their own ideas and goals that they wanted to be met at this conference. The British Prime Minister, David Lloyd George, wanted Germany to pay restitution for all of the damage that they had caused and he wanted harsh treatment of the Germans. The French leader, Georges Clemenceau, wanted to weaken Germany so that they could never attack France again.
Woodrow Wilson came to the peace conference with one goal in mind; he wanted the Fourteen Points to be used as a guideline for world peace. In the Fourteen Points President Wilson wanted freedom of the seas, free trade, major reduction......
