Marxist Policy: Lenin vs. Stalin Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The 20th century was marked by an era in which all parts of the world felt the pervasive impact of Communism, a movement that was initiated by the German philosopher Karl Marx. Marx’s ideas and theories became known as Marxism, which proposes a classless society to promote equality and the dictatorship of the proletariat (the working class). His policy was later developed and carried out by other revolutionaries and theorists; among the most important were Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin. Although these two revolutionary leaders had considerably altered Marx’s policy in various ways, it was reasonable to say that Marx’s theories were followed more closely by Lenin, who commenced revolution against the bourgeoisie (the ruling class) to pursue Marx’s vision, rather than Stalin, who transformed and exploited Marx’s ideas as a mean to consolidate his power and dictatorship.
