ABSTRACT
The Edwards Aquifer (EA) is the single largest water lifeline to the thriving metropolis of San Antonio TX and the surrounding 13 counties the aquifer occupies. The people of this great city rely on the aquifers constant availability and cleanliness.
Continued economic growth past the traditional boundaries of the city has pushed the human ecosystem directly on top of the EA recharge system. While concerted efforts from city counsel, environmental concerns, and citizens have had the best intentions and maintained the viability of the EA, the first real test of possible contamination will come next year when the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Tour build a golf resort on it.
The plan, called the Cibolo Canyon Golf Resort, will be a jewel in the PGA Tours crown of 24 other courses known as Tournament Players Club courses.
