Without a doubt, one of the most contentious organizational issues facing my company is the pervasive Information Technology (IT) versus Marketing mentality that exists within the minds of employees, in both the IT and marketing organizations. The problem exists at all levels within each organization. It is rampant in IT, from the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the top of the scale and the documentation clerks at the lower end of the same scale. It is unchecked in Marketing, from the Senior Vice President in the upper echelon and downward to the contract administrators.
