The Struggle of 1776 and the Importance of the American Flag Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

As we look back in time we can hardly imagine what the colonial people of America had to go through in order to gain independence from Great Britain. Before America was able to acquire her independence, there had to be an introduction of an idea to influence a Revolution that would change America forever. The political ideas of John Locke which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and Thomas Paine’s Common Sense would inspire America to have an urge to separate from Great Britain and become a nation of their own. The ideas of Philosophers John Locke and Thomas Paine would even influence the drafting of the Declaration of Independence which there forth begins the struggle of 1776 (Revolutionary War) between America and Great Britain. After America took on the Declaration of Independence the British began its invasion on America. In the North, the British had taken control over New York City which forced George Washington’s Continental Army to retreat into Pennsylvania. Battle after battle, Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, New York, it seemed......
