The term schizophrenia means split mind. Schizophrenics have portions of the mind that may make them see, hear, or feel things that arent there, however in other areas they may normal. There are many theories about the cause of the schizophrenia disorder. Some believe it may be from stress, others say genes, even viral infections. There are many different ways to treat schizophrenia, like therapy and medications. You may think the therapy will do well but there are consequences.
Schizophrenia is characterized by three broad types of symptoms, psychotic symptoms, negative symptoms, and cognitive symptoms.
Psychologists have discovered several ways Schizophrenia can occur. Some believe that persons may become schizophrenic through the genes of the relatives. They also found stress can also play a major part in this disturbing illness. Having a viral infection in the womb before the baby is born is another theory as well as a chemical imbalance between nerve cells or in parts of the brain where nerve cells may be misaligned or damaged.
