Television news is an essential aspect of life because it helps to keep us up to date with the latest events taking place in our world. Television news programs broadcasted between 5pm and 7pm receive higher ratings because this time frame is generally when the majority of people are home from work, therefore having access to the television. There are various free-to-air channels which have news telecasts in that timeframe; Channel 7(6pm-6:30pm), ABC (7pm-7:30pm) and SBS (6:30pm-7pm).
