This article reflects on President Bushs policy about the interrogation of terrorists and suspected . President Bush wants the Congress to pass a bill, which lets terror subjects to be tried before special military tribunals, and lets the CIA use certain interrogation techniques, or torture, to gain valuable information, and at the same time protecting them from war crimes. The Bush Administration says that the detainees, who are held in captivity, are terrorists, not Prisoners of War (P.O.W). His administration wants Congress to pass a law, which allows the CIA to use certain interrogation techniques, against terrorists, even if it means violating the Geneva Conventions.
In any event, there is a purpose or goal that the President is trying to achieve with his proposal to Congress about a new law allowing the interrogation of detainees or terror suspect using torture and harsh treatment.
