The fundamental chemical laws are those laws of nature that are relevant to chemistry. They lay down the foundation for the study of chemistry. The law of conservation of mass, the law of definitive proportions, and the law of multiple proportions are important in order to understand the reactions and relationships of substances.
First of all, Lavoisiers law of conservation of mass states the total mass of the reactants consumed by the reaction is exactly the same to the total mass of the products of a chemical reaction. For example, an equation has a specific number of atoms of an element on its left side it also has the same number of atoms on its right side; this shows that mass is conserved during a chemical reaction. Therefore, there is no change in the total mass of the substance during a chemical reaction; however, its form may do, but the mass cannot be created nor destroyed.
