Weisbrod who teaches at the University of Wisconsin described the poor in his work as “(1) Those for whom the economy has failed to provide jobs, (2) those whose ability to contribute to the productive process is insufficient, and (3) those whose opportunities to participate in the productive process are restricted by discrimination of various kinds” (Weisbrod 14). What is the cause of this widespread poverty pandemic? Many times the poverty-ridden individual is looked down as the cause of all of his problems.
