To Race the Wind is an inspiring story about
Harold Krents, a man born blind with the exception of the faint vision in his left eye and light perception in his right eye. He was very active as a child, always playing about in activities such as football, running and other various things. Though he was spirited and loving, Harold found it very difficult to find a steady companion. In his childhood he was subject to loneliness for a lengthy portion of time. Every friend that he had was only for a short period of time which was devastating to a young Harold.
Harold was nine years old when he became completely blind, due to his retina detaching from his eye. This was a crucial time in his Harolds life where he felt that the world had come to an end.
