Oppressions in the United States
Although free from the oppressions of the British government, the United States of America still suffers from the interlocking oppressions of Nationalism, Racism, Sexism, and Classism. These struggles, that stare the American people in the face, day in and day out, are molding, this nation that once was made for the people and by the people, into a nation for the powerful, by the powerful. These oppressions are no secret to the rest of the world, as they watch and see the American government under-mind the American people with their overwhelming use of propaganda in national and worldwide affairs. In one respect, some might praise the American government for its efforts in minimizing racism and sexism in American society, but those who are wise, see that their efforts have only been minor, as racism and sexism still play a role in job opportunities, wages, and treatment of American citizens.
