Man is not truly one, but truly two, says Dr Jekyll and I agree with him. We are composed of a conscious and a subconscious. One represents good and one represents inner evil. There is a Hyde in every one of us, waiting to be released.

I personally think that the conscious is partly what Locke said : the thoughts and actions of a person. But its also how you portray yourself, your fake true self. Its masking your true self. Your true self is your subconscious. The definition from the dictionary is : The complex of mental activities within an individual that proceed without his awareness.
